Our Trip Home

CONGRATS GRACE!!!

Last week we went home for Zach's sister's High School Graduation! It was a quick trip for Zach, who drove us home on Friday and flew out on Tuesday morning. But we packed a whole lot into the trip to KC while he was there. Unfortunately our trip started out a little rocky - Emma had gotten shots on Thursday and had a fever that evening that kept us up at night and was still hanging on the next morning. She got sick after about an hour in the car on Friday morning so that was our 1st stop of the day - poor girl. But after that I think she felt a little better for the ride. Then right after we got her all cleaned up - Zach realized that he booked his flight home wrong (he had himself flying from Louisville to KC on Tuesday - OOPS!). So after almost an hour on the phone - we finally just had Renee get online and book us another flight going the right direction - thanks Renee! When we finally got to KC we went out with some friends while Grandma Debi took a pitiful Emma home to bed. She slept through the night this one night - but that was about it before our teeth (2 sets of molars coming in now) started bothering us for the next few nights.

On Saturday we went over to Rodney and Jenni's house for lunch and to play with the kids - Emma had a ball playing with them! Then we went to see the New Royals Stadium that night! Other than Emma not feeling well and me missing most of the game with a squirmer - it was great. The stadium is a MUST SEE even if you don't like the Royals!

Royals Stadium behind the fountains - not the best picture but it really is beautiful!

Playing with bubbles at Grandma Debi's house
Then on Sunday we went to Grace's graduation party - Emma had a ball playing outside with all the kids. She loved hiding under the table and playing with Grandpa Randy the most though!
I think she likes Grandpa's hat better!

You can't ever have too much to drink!

Monday night was the graduation - which we've decided that Uncle Randy is an Emma Whisperer - she didn't make a PEEP! I told him he now has to attend ever event with us that she needs to sit still through!
On Tuesday Zach flew home and Emma and I visited Mira and Griffon before heading to Iowa! We always have fun at their house and wish we could play more often!!!

Derby 2009

I can't belive that Derby has already come and gone another year. I'm amazed at how fast this year is going! This year, Zach took advantage of not working Derbyfestival and got to attend an entire day at Oaks on Friday. He and some of his coworkers had a great time. Then Saturday was Derby!!! We had a Great day together and even won a little. Zach actaully won quite a bit - he had #8 - Mine That Bird which was 50/1 odds in the Derby. So he came out ahead for the weekend!

Here's some Derby and Oaks 2009 Photos!

The Zoo

Zach took off on Wednesday afternoon and we took Emma to the Louisville Zoo for the 1st time! We had a GREAT time and the weather was perfect. I have many zoo trips planned this summer with Emma, but it was nice that Zach got to go with us for the 1st trip!

Thunder Pictures! No - You're Not Imagining!

The camera has been found! It was in a stroller the whole time - tucked away where we couldn't see it! So now you get to see some Thunder pictures and tomorrow (or someday soon) Emma's 1st trip to the Louisville Zoo!
_________________________________________
"Is is over yet?" - Oh wait - we haven't even left the house for the day yet! This is when you think as a parent - am I really taking my child out all day when she's already exhausted? Oh well - that's what strollers are for right!

So it's true - she does take after her dad, grandpa and mom - we can't pass up a beer at the ballgame! Go Bats!

Baby Collin wondering if they day is ever going to end!

We aren't shy of the camera!

Happy Boy! Gotta love hanging out at the ballpark all day!

The End...both kids alseep and Grandma, Grandpa and Mom are EXHAUSTED!!!

Thunder Over Louisville!

Emma attended her 2nd Thunder Over Louisville celebration last weekend. The weather was Beautiful and luckily my mom and dad were able to come down and visit for the weekend. Not only did we take Emma (14 months), but we also took my girlfriend Renee's son, Collin (4 months). Zach, the best husband when it comes to Louisville events, got us a parking pass (2 actually in case one lot was full) and tickets to Slugger and of course free food and drinks! We ended up being Very lucky and headed downtown around 11 AM and pulled right up in front of Slugger field with 5 mintues before the gates opened and pulled right into the parking lot. While we were in the line - a Slugger employee called me a "player's wife" so I was feeling pretty good about myself! Ha! (Most likely because of the parking pass and not my looks unfortuately!) We took a walk down to the waterfront to eat great carnival food and of course have a lemonaid before heading back to Slugger for the ballgame. During the ballgame we watched the air show - the loud planes were NOT Emma's favorite. Collin didn't seem to mind them at all! After the game, we watched a Beatles band and Grandma Denise, Emma and Collin were all on the big screen dancing!

At 9:30 pm the fireworks began! If you haven't seen Thunder fireworks - you are missing out!!! It's amazing. And I think that the view from Slugger field is my favorite yet! It's a great way to watch the festivities - especially with kids. You have access to seats, real restrooms and it's not as crazy and crowded as it is on the waterfront! Colling slept through the entire show and never even flinched at the loud noises. Emma was awake when they began and liked the looks - but was scared of the loud ones. She ended up falling asleep during the show on Daddy and slept the rest of the night!

We had our 1st sleepover that night too! Collin spent the night with us and he and Emma had a ball playing the next morning! They were both exhausted from the long weekend but were soooo good!

The only casualty of Thunder was my Camera! And the worst part is that I had SO many Great pics of the kids from the day. We lost it sometime after fireworks between our seats and home! It's been driving me crazy! Oh well - it was a great day anyway - you'll just have to imagine how much fun the kids had!

It's A......

It's A BOY!!!!
We had our ultrasound this morning and they little man was squirming around in there. Unfortunately, he was very happy laying with his face down and his arm over his face - just like Emma did almost every time we tried to see her - so we didn't get any good pictures of his face. Although - I'm okay with this because at this stage they really don't look like anyone yet anyway!
Everything is looking great - and my doctor and I are both THRILLED that I've only gained 3 lbs this pregnancy. Guess it goes to show you how much weight I still had hanging around after Emma for the little man to grow on! HeHe. We did find out today that I have bronchitis - so I've got some antibiotics for that. Hopefully it will help me get better - I can't wait since I've been sick for a month now. We also found out that we'll get to have another ultrasound at 28 weeks due to my low placenta - which I had with Emma as well so I'm not concerned about it at all.
So that's it - not much else new going on. Zach's super busy with baseball season up and going now so Emma and I are getting to spend some great quality time together. We've already been to our first game - we went on Sunday to have Easter lunch with Zach - didn't everyone have hot dogs for Easter lunch? We're planning on going out to the game tomorrow for "Dog night at the park" with Louisville Grandma Barb and her dog, Ginger. Hopefully it won't rain!
Check back soon and I'll post some new pictures of Emma and maybe even and ultrasound picture!

1 Year Old Photo Shoot!

These are photos from Emma's 1 Year photo shoot (we took them just a little late!). She's getting to be such a big girl now - running everywhere, into everything and having lots of fun!

Hope all is well with everyone. I promise to be better at updating the blog from now on! Soon I'll have to put up a picture of how big I'm getting with the new little one on the way!
