No Luck!

Well - No Luck! She didn't turn. We got in to the hospital a little after 10 and after getting hooked up to monitors and IV's, they watched baby and me for about an hour before the doctors came in. Dr. Miller and Dr. Johnson both worked for about 15 or so minutes to turn her - She actaully was moving just fine until they would get her almost head down and then NOTHING. She just would not budge any further. The doctors feel it might be due to the funny shape of my uterus.
Thank goodness for some drugs - I got to sleep after they were done which helped a lot. I'm very sore and will probably be quite bruised. But mostly we were all just hungary. It was almost 4 PM before we got to leave and eat since baby and I were so groggy from the medicine.
So Now - we'll be seeing the Dr again on Tuesday and will schedule this little booger head to come out via c-section sometime the week of the 11th! We'll let you know when!
Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers! Keep them coming!

She's Grounded!

She's not even here yet and we've already grounded her! We went to the doctor this morning and got some crazy news...after months of this little one being head down - she has decided to turn around! We have a Breehed Baby! Not what you want to hear when you're 37 weeks pregnant! So after an ultrasound confirming her breech position, we went back to Dr Dutton to talk about our options. We decided to try to have her turned. So tomorrow we head to the hospital to have two doctors try to massage (that's a nice word...way too nice for what they're about to do!) her into a head down position. We've been told it's about a 50/50 chance of being done successfully. If it doesn't work we'll be scheduling a c-section the week of February 11th.
Cross your fingers and toes for us tomorrow! We'll see if the little booger head (as Zach has now decided to call her) will turn back the way she's suposed to be! We'll update more later!

4 Weeks Left

Only 4 weeks left!!! We can hardly wait. We saw our doctor today and she said that baby Hensley (I know -she needs a name!) is about 6 pounds. Now this is just by feel - so who know how big she really is - but it's exciting!

In the last week we've taken an infant CPR class, a labor and delivery class and toured the hospital. Now all we have to do is finish packing our bags and wait for the little one to arrive. Some days I want to keep her to myself forever and at other times I can't wait for her to join us in the outside world. I'm sure I will love her just as much when she arrives as I do now - but I sure am going to miss her squirming around in there!

So our next post may be when she arrives - but keep checking in! It could happen at Any Time!!!

Christmas 2007

For Christmas we got to fly home to see all the fam one last time before this baby comes! We spent Friday night in Warrensburg with all Zach's friends.
The baby got her 1st official "Heroes" shirt from the Wards! We can't wait to see her in it!

Then we spent Saturday night at Randy and Donna's while it SNOWED like crazy.

The drive home to Iowa on Sunday was a little slow going at points - but we made it. It was nice to spend a little extra time with my family this year and not have to run quite as much!

On Christmas we went to my Grandma Pete's in the morning and then drove back to KC to have Christmas with Debi that night.

The flights were long - and I think I stopped in every bathroom in each of the Airports we were in - but we made it. Friday was So excited to see us and not to have to spend another night at the kennel! Poor girl! She's still not quite figured out what this new room (the baby room) is for - but for now she's enjoying playing hide and seek with Zach - who has learned that he can hide under the crib! (Sad - but true!)

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Only a few more weeks and you'll get to see our new little addition!!!

29 Week Picture

Okay - Here She Is!!!

I had to scan these in so sorry they're not as clear. She's 29 Weeks this week and growing strong! (I can tell by her kicking!) The doctor says she even has a full head of hair! Everything looked Great today and we even got cleared to fly for Christmas - so we'll see you soon! We can't wait to come home one last time before our family grows!

We think she has Zach's - Hensley nose and she has my lips...but we're not sure where that chin came from!

Miss you all and see you for Christmas!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving is Over - but the leftovers will be around for a while! Yes - we did make a Turkey and Ham for only 3 people! Zach's mom, Debi, came down to visit for the weekend and got abused - she had to help cook, go shopping with me on Black Friday at 4:30 AM, and help us put up ALL the Christmas decorations. Poor Debi - I bet she'll think twice the next time we ask her to visit!
Our New TREE - Thanks Mom!

On Friday after Thanksgiving, we continued our tradition of going to Churchill and I kept my tradition of losing money! I think Debi was the only one who won and it wasn't anything to quit your job over! We did have a sad 1st at the track as well - we had to see our 1st horse break an ankle and had to be put down on the track. It was sad so we decided to end our day there.

Zach and Val at the TrackZach and Debi at the track

We finished up the weekend doing a few more things in the baby room (painted a lamp and put up some blinds and stuff) and cleaning up the house. Back to the real world tomorrow. On the baby front - she's getting big! She's moving around a lot - but still sitting REALLY low - I'm starting to get a little uncomfortable depending on what position she's in. I still love being pregnant though.

We go in for another ultrasound on December 6th - More to come then!
