4 Weeks Left

Only 4 weeks left!!! We can hardly wait. We saw our doctor today and she said that baby Hensley (I know -she needs a name!) is about 6 pounds. Now this is just by feel - so who know how big she really is - but it's exciting!

In the last week we've taken an infant CPR class, a labor and delivery class and toured the hospital. Now all we have to do is finish packing our bags and wait for the little one to arrive. Some days I want to keep her to myself forever and at other times I can't wait for her to join us in the outside world. I'm sure I will love her just as much when she arrives as I do now - but I sure am going to miss her squirming around in there!

So our next post may be when she arrives - but keep checking in! It could happen at Any Time!!!

Christmas 2007

For Christmas we got to fly home to see all the fam one last time before this baby comes! We spent Friday night in Warrensburg with all Zach's friends.
The baby got her 1st official "Heroes" shirt from the Wards! We can't wait to see her in it!

Then we spent Saturday night at Randy and Donna's while it SNOWED like crazy.

The drive home to Iowa on Sunday was a little slow going at points - but we made it. It was nice to spend a little extra time with my family this year and not have to run quite as much!

On Christmas we went to my Grandma Pete's in the morning and then drove back to KC to have Christmas with Debi that night.

The flights were long - and I think I stopped in every bathroom in each of the Airports we were in - but we made it. Friday was So excited to see us and not to have to spend another night at the kennel! Poor girl! She's still not quite figured out what this new room (the baby room) is for - but for now she's enjoying playing hide and seek with Zach - who has learned that he can hide under the crib! (Sad - but true!)

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Only a few more weeks and you'll get to see our new little addition!!!

29 Week Picture

Okay - Here She Is!!!

I had to scan these in so sorry they're not as clear. She's 29 Weeks this week and growing strong! (I can tell by her kicking!) The doctor says she even has a full head of hair! Everything looked Great today and we even got cleared to fly for Christmas - so we'll see you soon! We can't wait to come home one last time before our family grows!

We think she has Zach's - Hensley nose and she has my lips...but we're not sure where that chin came from!

Miss you all and see you for Christmas!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving is Over - but the leftovers will be around for a while! Yes - we did make a Turkey and Ham for only 3 people! Zach's mom, Debi, came down to visit for the weekend and got abused - she had to help cook, go shopping with me on Black Friday at 4:30 AM, and help us put up ALL the Christmas decorations. Poor Debi - I bet she'll think twice the next time we ask her to visit!
Our New TREE - Thanks Mom!

On Friday after Thanksgiving, we continued our tradition of going to Churchill and I kept my tradition of losing money! I think Debi was the only one who won and it wasn't anything to quit your job over! We did have a sad 1st at the track as well - we had to see our 1st horse break an ankle and had to be put down on the track. It was sad so we decided to end our day there.

Zach and Val at the TrackZach and Debi at the track

We finished up the weekend doing a few more things in the baby room (painted a lamp and put up some blinds and stuff) and cleaning up the house. Back to the real world tomorrow. On the baby front - she's getting big! She's moving around a lot - but still sitting REALLY low - I'm starting to get a little uncomfortable depending on what position she's in. I still love being pregnant though.

We go in for another ultrasound on December 6th - More to come then!

Lot's of Changes!

Well, there's been a lot of changes lately. The nursery is starting to look more like a baby's room every day! We went shopping for a rug and some daisey's for the walls this weekend. We've still got to paint the bookshelf, but that's a project for this weekend!

This weekend, Zach's mom, Debi was down to see the UofL game and to spend some time with us! We had a great time. She even got to be in on the 2007 Hensley family pumpkin carving contest - I think we were more excited about it than she was though! Take a look and let us know which pumpkin you think wins this year! I'll let you all know who carved which pumpkin in the next message!

As you can see - I'm changing too! We continue to grow - but we're feeling great! I think I could be this pregnant forever! She's very manageable at this point! But I can't wait to meet her either!

Baby Room in Progress!

We designated this weekend - baby room weekend! (Except for Sunday - because who can forget about going to watch football on Sunday!)

The baby room is painted and has furniture - but it still needs many final touches. We were blessed to get our nursery furniture from my mom and dad - and I have to say it looks FABULOUS! We were also lucky to have Dan - Renee's man - who gave us our glider rocker! So now we're down to finishing up the walls with some hand-painted art (if Dan still loves us!) and some new daisey's that we found the other day while out shopping! I think it's looking pretty good so far! And for anyone who wants the vibrant colors we chose - (yes we know they're bright!) - they are "Pretty as a Princess Pink" and "Friendly Frog Green."

BIGGEST NEWS!!!!!

The baby is moving more and more each day! On Saturday night she was having a party in there right before we went to bed and Zach got to feel her biggest kick yet! I think he though it was pretty weird - but very cool!

Hope all is well - check in soon for another pic of my growing belly - there's definately a growing baby in there now!

The Jags Win!

We went to our yearly Chiefs vs Jags game last weekend and had a Blast!!! The best part for Zach was the Jags actually won! Big difference from last year! We got to spend the weekend with Zach's friends in Warrensburg and then had a great time at the game. My feet and back are killing me - but we made it through - exhausted - but made it! It's taken till today to recover - but now we're getting ready for a big weekend of baby room painting!!! I'll take more pictures this weekend to show what the nursery will look like and also of my belly - Amazingly it grew overnight!!!
